HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GIUSEPPE BERGOMI!

Inter would like to wish Giuseppe Bergomi a very happy 51st birthday

MILAN – Twenty seasons in the Nerazzurri jersey, 756 appearances for the club (second only to Javier Zanetti in the all time appearances stakes) and 28 goals. Giuseppe Bergomi was a one-club man, and to good fortune of us all, that club was Inter.

After making his first-team debut at the age of just 16 on 30 January 1980 (Juventus 0-0 Inter, Coppa Italia), Bergomi went on to carve out an illustrious Nerazzurri career which finally came to an end on 23 May 1999 in a 3-1 win over Bologna in Serie A.

Lo Zio, as he was known to the adoring fans, won one Scudetto (1988/89), three UEFA Cups (1990/91, 1993/94, 1997/98), one Italian Supercup (1989) and one Coppa Italia (1981/82). His greatest achievement, aside from the league title won under Giovanni Trapattoni, was the World Cup triumph in 1982.

On the day of his 51st birthday, let us play tribute to a true Inter legend. Happy birthday, Beppe!
