APPIANO GENTILE - Walter Mazzarri met with journalists this afternoon to discuss the game with Napoli at the San Siro tomorrow. After the international break it's time to get stuck into Serie A again and the coach began his news conference by explaining: “We've trained very well in the last two weeks. We've looked at the mistakes we made and the lads have shown great hunger and conviction: they want to bounce back starting tomorrow. We're focused on going out there and producing a big performance."
Asked about president Thohir's recent message, Mazzarri stated: "I agree with him and the players."
There were also some words of praise for young striker Federico Bonazzoli: "He's young and promising. He could have a very successful future."
Back on the game at hand: "I want to see my players' huge desire to bounce back tomorrow. I want to see that every game till the end of the season. We know we have work to do. We've pressed the right buttons and the lads are all determined to get back on track. They know exactly what I want from them. A team that gets in their opponents' faces and plays at a high tempo. I want us to play the way we need to get a result."
Quizzed about Mateo Kovacic, Mazzarri said: "He's young and people like Handanovic are helping him with his development. I have a marvellous group of players here."
He added: "I'm the number one fan of my team and you should always get behind the players. You need team spirit and dialogue. The coach provides his input but the players have to magnify it. You come through difficulties by working together. We're Inter and if we play well we can cause anyone problems."
