MILAN – Piero Ausilio recently gave a long interview to Tuttosport which was published in this morning's edition of the paper.
Here's an extract of the sporting director's words: "We've analysed the problems without shame or fear and realised that we needed to do some work on our fitness levels. We'll see a different Inter now. We have confidence in Mazzarri. Throughout his career, he's always achieved the targets he's been set and he'll do that here too."
Ausilio explained further: "We can't let ourselves get scared by one difficult week. Cagliari was a one-off, the sort of game you might get once a season. It happened to Mancini and Mourinho during their times here as well.
"In Florence the team fell apart but they got punished every time they tried to take the game to the opposition. We've had a close look at our problems without shame or fear and realised that we needed to do some work on our fitness levels.
"Those players who have stayed behind – especially people like Hernanes, Palacio and Vidic – have been following a specific training regime and I'm confident we'll see a very different Inter performance against Napoli."
