SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Three games, nine points and thirteen goals. That, in short, is how the Inter Primavera boys have fared so far in the league this season. This afternoon they recorded win number three against Udinese thanks to a double from Puscas and one from Gnoukouri, the Romanian striker thus taking his tally to an astonishing nine from the first three matches in the nascent 2014/15 campaign.
It was no less than Stefano Vecchi's side deserved, although the visitors went close early on through Jadi (Radu denying him with a near-post stop). It wasn't long until Luca Mattiussi's team succumbed to the Nerazzurri's superiority, however. In the 18th minute Bonazzoli threaded a pass through for Camara and the winger selflessly centered for Puscas to steer into a half-empty net. Ivorian midfielder Gnoukouri then made it two when he smashed home from an angle with the interval looming.
Inter remained in control after the restart but the visitors were awarded a penalty with quarter of an hour remaining following Puscas' handball, which allowed Zapata to reduce the arrears. The lead was restored five minutes later though because Baldini was felled in the box and Puscas converted from the spot to further boost his goal average.
After the final whistle Primavera coach Stefano Vecchi told Inter Channel: "We were up against a very good side with some players who are in and around the first team. We did well to take our chances."
Asked what Inter's target is for the season, he replied: "We know that our aim is to finish in the top two. We'll try to go about the task as best we can."
Vecchi then praised his team's strength in depth: "Baldini came on in the cup game and played well. Today he came on again and did well. Rocca and Steffé perform whenever they're called upon. That shows you that we have a strong squad and that everyone is important. The will all get game time during the course of the season."
