WASHINGTON, DC – Michael Williamson is with Inter in the States: it's a homecoming for him, back in the city where he used to live. Interviewed by NBC Universal on the day Inter landed in DC, the Nerazzurri CFO began by discussing his relationship with the States: "Obviously I love the Washington community and the States. And it's fantastic to be here with Inter at this stage of the season."
The players have just arrived at the Catholic University, where they will carry out their International Champions Cup preparations. They're still working their way back up to fitness in these first few weeks and Williamson was keen to stress: "Although it's still pre-season we want to do well. We have a team that's a mix of leaders and youngsters: together they can achieve great things."
Finally, the former DC United COO spoke about vice president Javier Zanetti, who is due to arrive in Washington, DC in the coming hours: "We're delighted to have him as our vice president. He'll bring the same enthusiasm as he did during his playing days. It's a great opportunity for all the fans to see him here on our US tour."
