MISSING IN ACTION: OUSMANE DABO

"Inter, the turning point in my life." Two seasons with Nerazzurri, then a number of clubs before Lazio. Runs a fashion business and football school in Senegal

MILAN - Ousmane Dabo joined Inter when he was 21. He is now 37. A Frenchman from Laval, he was signed along with Mikaël Silvestre. For both it was merely a taster of a more decorated career elsewhere, for Ousmane at Lazio and Silvestre at Manchester United. So they might be classed as 'misunderstood.' Dabo didn't play much for the Nerazzurri, managing 18 appearances in total. After Inter he played for Vicenza, Parma, Atalanta and Lazio. He ended his career in America with New England Revolution three years ago. He now owns a football school in Senegal.

"I also have a fashion business. I live in Paris, and I never got married. I didn't play much at Inter but I still remember my first day. We played Piacenza, I was right-back in a five-man defence and the stadium was packed. San Siro is an impressive stadium, unforgettable. That team was brilliant, we had Ronaldo, Djorkaeff, Baggio."

What did Inter mean to you?
"That was the turning point in my career. I came from a small French club and Inter were the first team to give me a chance in Italy. I've got great memories of Inter and I have no regrets. I'm happy with how things are."

Who will win the World Cup?
"Brazil!"
