PINZOLO 2014: PRE-SEASON TRAINING CAMP PRESENTED

Nerazzurri to stay in Val Rendena from 9 to 20 July, continuing a successful tradition that's now reached its fourth year

APPIANO GENTILE - FC Internazionale's pre-season training camp in Pinzolo was presented at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti this afternoon. Speaking at the news conference were chief commercial officer Giorgio Ricci, team manager Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, Brazilian midfielder Hernanes and the mayor of Pinzolo William Bonomi.

Giorgio Ricci opened the proceedings: "I'd like to welcome you all to this conference which has now become a traditional event - this is the fourth year now. The summer training camp has a dual function: on the one hand it marks the start of the new season, while on the other, from a commercial point of view, it's the icing on the cake for all the marketing and communications initiatives carried out in the previous 12 months.

"The 2013 training camp was a huge success with a new record set for visitors in a single day: 10,000. Overall we had almost 90,000. The partnership between Trentino-Pinzolo-Val Rendena and Inter has been a very successful one. This year the team will stay there from 9 to 20 July. There will be two friendlies [one against a local side and one against opposition yet to be decided]. Then there will be entertainment for the fans, Inter Clubs and the Inter Village with the store and obviously lots of special evening events."

Ivan Ramiro Cordoba reiterated just how comfortable Inter feel in Val Rendena: "We see Pinzolo almost as if it were another home for us. For the team it's a setting that helps them get on with their technical work and their fitness work, and then there are all the events the club organises to involve the fans. I think it's an advantage having all our fans there, even those who live further away. 90,000 is a lot: it's motivating to see so many fans and it provides us with an even greater incentive. We didn't expect so many last summer. It gave us a huge boost and hopefully it will be the same this year. Considering that we'll also have the Europa League to prepare, I hope the supporters will be even more up for it and want to help us build something important together."

Hernanes added: "As a footballer it's important to get your pre-season preparations off on the right foot, and training in such an environment, surrounded by nature, with the beautiful mountain air is very relaxing. Afterwards you start getting lots of pressure so it's an important time to enjoy nature. It will help give us some peace of mind ahead of the season."

William Bonomi: "We head into this fourth training camp full of enthusiasm and relaxed after the last three years in which we've got to know Inter, a highly organised club, and developed a great working relationship with them. We've got to know the technical staff. Inter is a special club and it's both an honour and a joy to host them.

"We've got to know the fans – and they are special too. They've covered our town with black and blue and I hope there will be even more of them this time around after last year's record. We have a few surprises in store which I'm not going to reveal now and there will also be all the usual activities we've organised in previous years.

"The mountains are a great place to recharge your batteries so I invite the fans to come and follow the team up close while enjoying the range of facilities - such as sports - on offer, and taking in Trentino's natural beauty."
