CERRONE: "WE PAID A HEAVY PRICE FOR OUR MISTAKES"

"Disappointed with the way the game went, we needed consistency after our recent bad spell. Andy Polo the one positive note, he had a great game"

MILAN –  Salvatore Cerrone spoke to Inter Channel after today's home reverse against Cagliari.

"We didn't do badly in the first half, although as I said to the lads at the interval I wasn't very pleased with the last 20 minute of the opening period. Still, up to that point we'd keep our opponents quiet, so I told them to go back out there with a positive attitude, be careful and try to sew the game up. That didn't happen and in less than ten minutes we threw it all away."

The Primavera coach went on: "I don't understand what happened. The first two goals are mistakes that just shouldn't be made at this level. We need to be more careful. We tried to get ourselves back in it but we didn't go about the task as well as we're able to. There were times when we played intelligently but as the match wore on we did that less too. I'm lost for words when I see mistakes like that and our reaction was too weak. I'm disappointed with the way the game went. I hoped these boys had understood that we needed consistency after the bad spell we went through. We paid a heavy price for the mistakes we made today.

"Andy Polo is the one positive note to take from today. He had a great game and showed what he's capable of after a few weeks settling in. He plays with the football intelligence of an adult. He can be a huge help to this team."
