MILAN - Roberto Samaden was in confident mood as he spoke exclusively to inter.it earlier. He discussed the Viareggio Cup, which sees the Nerazzurri take on the reigning champions Anderlecht tomorrow.
Here's what the FC Internazionale youth academy director had to say:
"This year Viareggio takes on a new format: we got a bye through the first phase, which means we begin immediately with a knockout match. It's a new experience, given that we're used to going through the group phase. We'll come up against a big side, Anderlecht are one of the world's best at this level. Plus, they were the hardest of the four second-placed sides we could have faced (Rijeka, Livorno, Verona and the Belgian side).
"Either way we're very confident, even though we know it will be very tough, but this is without a doubt a great learning experience for our lads. Games like these are exciting for all concerned."
