CITTADELLA - Salvatore Cerrone analysed his team's performance after the 3-1 win at Cittadella.
This is what the Primavera coach had to say:
"After the defeats we've suffered recently it was hard for us go out there and get into our stride straight away. Sometimes it's not easy to do things calmly and indeed we did struggle in the opening 10 minutes even though we went into the game with the right approach. That's precisely why I had encouraged the lads to stay calm.
"We were also playing on a pitch that was in an atrocious state. I'd never had to tell the lads to wear six-stud boots on an artificial pitch before. That certainly didn't make it any easier...
"In any case we gained in confidence as the game went on and I'm really happy with the lads because everyone who was called upon gave a great account of themselves – Baldini and Bigotto to name just two.
"After the Chievo game I said I wanted a reaction from them and I'm seeing that. We still need to drum in a few things – for example we shouldn't have conceded at 3-0. It's about improving the mental side of their game because you learn from things like that. It's very important.
"We'll have two days off now, the boys deserve them, then we'll start thinking about Viareggio."
