MILAN – Yet another big success for the Inter Youth Academy. This time it was Marco Sala’s Esordienti side that took top honours at the 2nd edition of the Torneo Puleo by beating AC Milan in the final. But the resounding 3-0 victory over the Rossoneri wasn’t the only important result earned by these 2002-born lads.
The first statistic we should mention is clearly an impressive one: 32 goals scored, and only 1 let in. We can also note that the teams that fell to Sala’s side were by no means weak ones. The path began against Renate, then followed with Pergolettese, Tritium, Aldini 2001 and Pro Vercelli. In the semi-finals the young Nerazzurri came up against Juventus, but certainly showed no fear as they came away winners with a scintillating 4-0 victory over the Bianconeri.
Then the final brought a clash against crosstown rivals AC Milan, which allowed Inter to close out the tournament in style: a 3-0 win. Congratulations then to Marco Sala’s team for their claiming yet another trophy for the Inter Youth Academy.
