MILAN – 9 January 1938 is a day to remember in Nerazzurri history. In the Serie A’s Week 15 match, Ambrosiana Inter crushed Bari by a score line of 9-2, thanks to a 5-goal performance from Giuseppe Meazza: still today he stands as one of the club’s record-holders for the most goals scored in a single match.
The record was later equalled by Antonio Valentin Angelillo in Inter 8-0 Spal on 12 October 1958, and Romano Penzo in Inter 9-1 Genoa on 23 December 1945.
