PRIMAVERA, INTER 0-1 GENOA

Nerazzurri U19s unlucky to lose friendly in Novate Milanese, a useful run-out before returning to league action against AC Milan next weekend

NOVATE MILANESE - Inter's Primavera side hosted Genoa for a friendly match this afternoon to blow away some of the Christmas cobwebs before resuming championship duties next weekend.

The game's only goal came in the first half when a defensive mix-up allowed Velocci to score for the visitors. Inter responded by creating several chances for an equaliser before the half-time whistle but were still trailing when they went in at the break.

The Nerazzurri had no more joy in the second period, as Bonazzoli saw an effort chalked off for offside (57) and Acampora rattled the bar with a 30-yarder with a quarter of an hour to play. There was still time for Bonazzoli to shave the post with another attempt and Capello to draw a save out of the visiting keeper at the death.

So Genoa edged it while Inter were unlucky, but it was a useful run-out for Salvatore Cerrone's youngsters nonetheless. Next Sunday it starts counting again: AC Milan visit the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti for the rearranged championship fixture.
