APPIANO GENTILE - Back at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti with the other Nerazzurri who resumed training this afternoon, Zdravko Kuzmanovic spoke to Sky Sport 24 about what the fans can expect in the new year. "They can expect a good season from us because we're determined to keep performing well," he said. "We need to push on from our derby victory because they were three big points for us and we want to keep going now. Can we hope to finish third? Sure we can hope for that - it's what we want."
The Serbian midfielder then reflected on his own season: "I haven't played much because I haven't been fit. I had a nasty calf injury and was sidelined for quite a while. Then I came back and the coach played me in a wonderful game which gave us all a fillip, including myself. Now I want to do even better.
"Have I ever felt I wasn't a part of Mazzarri's plans? No, never. I've always been happy here because I know I give 100%. I always say that when the gaffer needs me I'm ready. There are lots of us here and only 11 can step onto the pitch so it's normal the coach should have to make his choices. But I speak to him all the time."
Kuzmanovic could be seen as the team's good luck charm, since Inter have won every time he's played. "Yes, that's true, but I haven't played many. As I said, when the coach comes calling, I answer. I'm not one for talking. I prefer action to words."
He has been linked with a move away in recent days and so he was asked for his view on a potential transfer: "I definitely want to stay because I'm happy here, I know my team-mates and I feel good. Is it true I turned down moves to England and Germany last summer? Yes, there were a few offers but I didn't want to leave Inter in June and I'm not thinking about it now either."
On filling Cambiasso boots: "I can play in all three positions [in midfield]. If I'm asked to do Cuchu's job, I can do that. He's having a fantastic season and I'll wait for my chance. Cambiasso is a great player so I just have to keep believing in myself."
