MILAN - Esteban Cambiasso reflected on Inter's win over AC Milan after the game:
"We expected our opponents to fade a bit after the break. They did a lot of harrying in the first half and we found it hard to move the ball around when we were trying to get it out wide quickly. But it's hard to maintain a high pressing game for the whole 90 minutes and so we used that to our advantage in the second period.
"It's a huge joy for us - both us and the fans - because it's always good to head into the holidays with a smile. Winning a derby is always fantastic, it means so much and we know that. Tomorrow the fans will be able to go into work with smiles on their faces.
"What was said with Erick Thohir in the dressing room afterwards? We were all very happy after the final whistle. The president was delighted as all Interisti are. There's more to talk about when you don't win. When you go home with the three points, you've earned the right to enjoy it knowing that you gave your all.
"Massimo Moratti had other commitments he had to attend to, it's not the first time. But I'm sure he'll have been sat in front of the TV and I'm sure he'll have celebrated it as if he were here with us.
"Moratti has placed this team in good hands. I've got to know Thohir and I know this might be hard to explain but you can tell he's driven by so much passion.
"Balotelli's tweet? He's right to wish everyone 'Happy Christmas'. It's the best moment of the year, a time of peace. There's no need to seek controversy...
"The standings? We're not looking at the table. This game is just a step forward for us."
