MONZA - It took them 30 extra minutes at the Stadio Brianteo in Monza but Salvatore Cerrone's Primavera lads eventually saw off AC Milan and clinched their spot in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.
Having taken an early lead through Romanian striker Puscas and having the better of the first half, Inter found themselves pegged back after the interval when Pinato grabbed an equaliser for Filippo Inzaghi's charges.
The 90 minutes ended all square but the Nerazzurri found a new lease of life in extra time and sealed victory with goals from two substitutes. Palazzi restored Inter's lead just before the end of the first period then Bonazzoli put the contest to bed with a third, setting up a semi-final encounter with Lazio in the new year.
President Thohir took in his first derby of the weekend from the stands and will have been delighted with the Under-19s' display. It certainly bodes well for the big match in San Siro tomorrow!
