MILAN - Coach Salvatore Cerrone analysed the performance by his lads after the away
victory over Chievo.
Here are his statements:
"An important victory to say the least. We really wanted it, especially
for what’s coming up next. My lads managed to earn a result against a team that
is having a strong season, to say the least. This win boosts our morale and
came thanks to hard work. I had asked them to keep it up after the victory over
Varese, and they did it.
"Without taking anything away from Varese, we faced a different opponent today. Actually, I’m happy because we managed to play our game against the 2nd-placed team in the league for a long stretch of time and impose the rhythm that we wanted to play at.
"Besides, we knew it would be a tough game, and it was a knock-out round, which adds even more pressure. The fog? There were moments in which we couldn’t see anything from the bench, but my boys told me that conditions were slightly better on the pitch.
"Now our morale is high ahead of the Terni game, since we’re also aiming to do well in the league, too. It’s ok to be happy with advancing, but we have to start again right away, without letting our guard down. That’s also the secret when you play and earn good results."
