ZANETTI: "AN INTENSE WEEK. ERICK THOHIR HAS VERY CLEAR IDEAS"

As a guest this evening at the 8th Bindun Golden Award, the Inter captain spoke to Sky Sport Italia

MILAN – From the 8th edition of the Bindun Golden Award at the Fiera di Milano this evening, Javier Zanetti spoke with Andrea Paventi of Sky Sport Italia.

Erick Thohir left today. It was a very intense week for the new Inter president. On a personal level, what kind of impression has this week made on you?
"It’s been an intense week. I think he became more familiar with the components that make up this great Inter family, so he must have taken away a good idea. I believe he’s someone who intends to take Inter even higher and, together with the Moratti family, they’ll work hard to achieve this."

Was there anything that struck you when you met president Thohir in Appiano Gentile?
"We spoke, and I believe he’s a man with very clear ideas. Right now I imagine he wants to learn more about living in Italy, how football is run here, and from this point he’ll certainly look to take this club as high as he can."

On Sunday league action begins again. Is there a desire on your part to start playing from the first minute?
"It’s back to playing again and, coming off of this serious injury, my first sensations in the Livorno game were fantastic. This was the first step I had to take. Right now the team is doing very well and I don’t believe I have to begin as a starter. I just came back. I’ll get into a condition that will allow me to give the team a hand, just as I always do. The most important thing we can do as a group is to be competitive and we all want to play our part."
