Inter 0-1 Chiasso

APPIANO GENTILE - Inter have been beaten 1-0 by Chiasso in a friendly (45 minutes per half) played this afternoon on the show pitch at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti with new president Erick Thohir and vice-president Angelomario Moratti watching on. Bedy Moratti, Rosan Roeslani, Handy Soetedjo, Marco Fassone, Stefano Filucchi, Marco Branca and Piero Ausilio also attended.

FIRST HALF - Before the match a minute's silence was observed in memory of Italian horseriding legend Raimondo D'Inzeo. Inter had the game's first chance: Kuzmanovic hit a fierce right-footed drive which went just wide of Cappelletti's left-hand upright. Three minutes later Kuzmanovic's free-kick was headed over the bar by Samuel.

Chiasso came into it in the 13th minute, as Carrizo had to punch the ball to safety following a dangerous cross from Felitti on the right. Midway through the first period Mihaljovic crossed the ball from the right but the ball flashed across the penalty area before anyone could get a touch to it.

Samuel was forced off on 24 minutes and Rolando replaced him. Inter had their first corner on the half-hour mark but Cambiasso's delivery was cleared by the Chiasso defence. Cappelletti was sharpest on 31 minutes, quickly off his line to meet Cambiasso's deflected cross ahead of Ventre. Puscas was also just beaten to the ball a minute later, once again after good work from Cambiasso. Inter's second alteration came on 32 minutes: Kuzmanovic was withdrawn for Olsen. Ten minutes shy of the break Mihajlovic's shot across goal was easily fielded by Carrizo. Wallace made a nice foray forward on 42 minutes: Cambiasso was just beaten to his cross in front of goal. The Argentine also missed a good chance following another Wallace cross just before the interval.

SECOND HALF - There was a change in goal for the Nerazzurri in the second half with Castellazzi on for Carrizo. The hosts poured forward from the outset but Puscas' header in the 46th minute was straight at Martinazzo. The Chiasso stopper also thwarted Rolando on the hour mark, fisting away Cambiasso's free-kick as Rolando was ready to pounce. The Nerazzurri made a triple substitution after 61 minutes, as Bonazzoli, Campagnaro and Jonathan replaced Puscas, Juan Jesus and Zanetti. Olsen's corner on 68 minutes just evaded Andreolli's head and no Nerazzurri player was there to follow up.

The youngest player on the field very nearly scored a lovely goal on 71 minutes: Federico Bonazzoli, 16, exchanged passes with Cambiasso in the box and tried to find the far corner from out wide. The ball went just wide of Martinazzo's right post. Jonathan's corner was easily cleared with 15 minutes to play. Mariga, Donkor and Kamara were given a quarter of an hour to make their mark, coming on for Cambiasso, Andreolli and Ventre respectively.

Inter went close to taking the lead on 79 minutes: Jonathan put in a lovely ball from the right for Bonazzoli but the young striker was just unable to steer it home from close range. With three minutes to play Olsen saw his effort from outside the box saved by Conti.

Chiasso went in front with perhaps their only shot on target of the game. Rolando lost the aerial battle with Yerli on the right, his cross found its way past Donkor and Becchio just had to tap the ball home. The Nerazzurri might have equalised at the death, but Conti got in ahead of Jonathan from Wallace's cross.
