MILAN – Primavera coach Salvatore Cerrone spoke to Inter Channel after his side's 1-1 draw with Padova this afternoon.
"It was a tricky match and we didn't get off to the best of starts with our opponents scoring. We had chances to equalise though and I felt confident because I could see we were set up well and playing some decent stuff. We looked lively. Even when they scored I thought we looked solid, getting men behind the ball and trying to break forward.
"Apart from the missed penalty, there were a couple of lads who didn't stay completely alert right up until the end, and generally speaking there was the odd lull in concentration. That was something I'd tried to ram home to them over the last fortnight. I knew we'd be facing a team that are hard to break down. We did manage to open them up but then we came up a bit short when we had to finish off moves. We took a while to get going again after we scored the equaliser, although I tried to urge them on from the bench.
"I think we probably deserved to win and it would have been three big points for us. It wasn't easy but even before the penalty we had a number of chances to find a winner. That last-minute penalty was a big regret though... There's a long way to go in the league but it would have been better if we'd got three points today."
