RANOCCHIA: "AN HONOUR TO TAKE THE CAPTAIN'S ARMBAND"

The defender spoke to Inter Channel: "We have a couple of days to get ready for Atalanta. It'll be tough but we want maximum points before the break"

MILAN - Andrea Ranocchia gave an exclusive interview to Inter Channel following the Nerazzurri's 4-2 victory over Hellas Verona.

"We prepared for this match really thoroughly and we knew they'd try to get the ball up to Toni. He's a tricky customer because he's very good and very big but we did a great job on him.

"We started off much better than we did against Torino. We did totally the opposite and we were sailing. As soon as we take our foot off the pedal a little we start to suffer, but if we can keep the tempo high other teams will find it hard to contain us.

"It was an honour to take the captain's armband at the end. It's always a pleasure to be able to do that because that it's always been worn by top, top players.

"Now we have to recover in a couple of days and get ready for Atalanta. We've found it hard against them in recent years but we must try to take maximum points before going into the international break."
