MILAN - Montevideo's Estadio Centenario was the setting for an international clash with four Nerazzurri players involved last night. Uruguay beat Argentina 3-2 and must now overcome Jordan in a two-legged intercontinental play-off in November if they are to take part in next summer's World Cup.
Alvaro Pereira was an unused substitute for Uruguay.
Hugo Campagnaro and Rodrigo Palacio both started and finished the match for Argentina.
Mauro Icardi made his senior debut for Argentina when he came on for Fernandez in the 82nd minute.
