PRESIDENT MORATTI: "EVERYTHING HAS BEEN SIGNED"

"You love something but at the same time you're happy and relieved to think you've left it in good hands, with good people"

MILAN - President Massimo Moratti spoke to the press waiting for him outside the Saras offices this morning.

Have you signed the deal?
"Everything's been signed, I believe there will be a press statement in a few hours."

Are you happy with how the deal was agreed?
"Yes, I'm happy, it took a while, but I think it's fair, it's been done well."

Do you have anything to say to the fans at this time?
"Let's wait for the official statement... Even I am making out it's something normal, but obviously it's surprising in terms of how I'll have to conduct myself and my responsibilities. I'll see how I feel."

Are you a bit sad?
"When you have a big change in your life, you don't know if you'll be sad or whether you'll adapt to a different pace of life. We'll see whether there will be a different pace of life, because I don't think there is at the moment. Of course, you love something but at the same time, though you're not necessarily happy, you are relieved to think you've left it in good hands. I'm sure of that because these are good people, in terms of their character too."

Will Inter still keep her unique spirit, the one you gave the club?
"Every president leaves his mark, there's no doubt about that, with time there might perhaps be a different mark, I don't know. What's important is that you're always respectful of what's going on in the rest of the world, outside of your own business, and I believe these people are keeping that in mind."

Will you stay on as president?
"I don't know about that."

Will the closing of the deal wait until after the board meeting?
"This is of relative importance, of course I need to hold the meeting on the 28th, there are dates that need to be respected, relating to the latest financial report. In terms of the new ownership, if we can't manage it in time, and I don't believe we can, we could hold an extraordinary meeting a few days later."

Is the decision on who the president will be down to you?
"Yes, I believe so. Well, let's see."
