BERNAZZANI REPORTS ON UNDER-17S' US TRIP

Youth academy technical coordinator explains: "It's not easy playing in a tournament against lads two years your senior, we're very proud of them"

MILAN – Inter's Allievi Nazionali team coached by Gianmario Corti has just returned to Italy after a successful trip to the United States, where they took part in the Newark Liberty International Soccer Summit.

inter.it chatted to youth academy technical coordinator Daniele Bernazzani to find out how it went.

"Overall it was very positive indeed, both as an experience – since it was an international tournament – and because our lads achieved some great results. It was a competition for Under-19s and we entered it with our Under-17s but still managed to do extremely well: we were a match for all the sides we faced. We almost reached the final and won the third-place play-off against Maccabi Haifa.

"It's not easy playing in a tournament against lads that are two years your senior and we're very proud of the way they went about it. We're delighted to have been able to take part in this tournament and are grateful to the organisers and everyone who helped us. I'd especially like to thank Inter Club Giacinto Facchetti from New Jersey and their president Aldo Tripicchio - they were really kind and helpful."
