MILAN - At the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti the first preliminary round of the Primavera Coppa Italia was played. Salvatore Cerrone’s Nerazzurri took on and defeated a Modena side coached by ex Serie A player and Italian international, Simone Barone. The final result was 1-0 thanks to Acampora's 1st-half winner, but it didn’t all go smoothly for Cerrone’s lads as they missed two penalties and wasted numerous scoring chances.
Both teams took to the pitch in a 3-5-2 formation, and also of note were two Nerazzurri debuts: goalkeeper Luca Maniero, who arrived yesterday from Padova, and midfielder Camara (who turned in an excellent performance). The formula for the Primavera Coppa Italia this season consists of one-off matches, meaning no return legs until the semi-final and final stage. Inter will face the winner between Parma and Padova in the next round on 25 September.
