Forlan bagged a first-half brace (27, 29) and Suarez (52) netted after the interval to put Uruguay in the driving seat, before Kagawa (54) and Honda (72) scored for the hosts either side of Argentina's fourth by Gonzalez (58).
Alvaro Pereira came off the bench for Uruguay in the 67th minute while Yuto Nagatomo did not feature for Alberto Zaccheroni's side.
