ST. LOUIS - Real Madrid lead Inter 2-0 at half time in the exhibition match being played at Edward Jones Dome this afternoon. Walter Mazzarri had his Nerazzurri set out in a 3-5-1-1 formation for the first 45 minutes, with Fredy Guarin operating behind Rodrigo Palacio.
Los Blancos made the better start to proceedings and broke the deadlock through Kakà after 11 minutes of play. Mazzarri's side responded well to falling behind and managed to keep hold of the ball for longer periods but were unable to create any clear-cut chances. Cristiano Ronaldo doubled Real's tally in the 38th minute when he latched onto a splendid through ball by Casemiro and lashed an angled finish past Handanovic. Inter pushed forward with conviction as the half drew to a close and Palacio managed to wriggle the ball free for Olsen to shoot but the Danish midfielder was unable to find the target.
