MODENA - One year after the tragic earthquake that struck the Emilia region,
Inter Campus returned to meet the children and organise fun and games in close
collaboration with Sassuolo Calcio and in coordination with World Child, UISP,
CSI Modena and the local FIGC representative.
From 8 to 18 July the Inter Campus staff, supported by coaches from Sassuolo’s
youth academy, played with more than 900 boys and girls between the ages of 5
and 14 on the pitches and in the parks of the towns where summer camps had been
set up.
By directly observing the children, it was clear that the situation is almost
back to normal again; most of the families have returned to their homes, the
schools have completed all their programmes and youth sports activities are up
and running again, thanks also to the Inter Campus partners who helped out to
make these visits possible.
The cities that played host to the initiative were, in chronological order,
Bomporto, Castelfranco Emilia, Concordia, San Felice sul Panaro, Finale Emilia,
San Marino di Carpi, Medolla, Carpi, San Prospero, Massa Finalese, Cavezzo,
Mirandola, Novi and Camposanto.
