MILAN – FC Internazionale has teamed up with Crossfire for the third year running to offer another crop of US youngsters the opportunity to receive coaching from Inter's professional trainers. 160 kids aged 8 to 14 are taking part in the 2013 Crossfire Premier Residential Camp from 7 to 12 July.
Andrea Ratti and Gabriele Zanon – under the supervision of Inter Academy technical director Marco Monti – are running sessions throughout the week for these lucky youngsters who have the chance to learn some of the tricks of the trade from our youth academy coaches. It's also an opportunity for local trainers to pick up first-hand experience of our latest training and tactical methods, which they do not only during the week in the States but also on organised trips to the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti in Milan. Inter Academy's continued success is further proof of how highly regarded the football model exported around the globe from the Nerazzurri youth academy is, with its modern approach to training and educating young players.
The week comes to a close with a prestigious youth tournament, the 2013 Nike Crossfire Challenge, which will see dozens of US and Canadian youth teams descend on Redmond, Washington, next weekend. The competition, from 13 to 15 July, will provide the Inter-trained kids with the chance to test themselves against some of the best young talents in North America.
The partnership between Inter and Crossfire Premier Soccer is an important project for both parties: not only does it offer US youngsters and coaches a unique learning opportunity, it also gives the Nerazzurri colours more visibility across the pond.
