MILAN - The Guinness International Champions Cup line-up is now complete, with details unveiled to the press in Miami this morning. The prestigious international tournament will see Inter compete with AC Milan, Chelsea, Everton, Juventus, LA Galaxy, Real Madrid and Valencia for the trophy from 27 July to 7 August.
The eight teams are to be organised in two groups of four (East and West) for the first two games, with winners facing winners and losers pitted against losers within each group. The West region will play in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix. The East region will be based in New York and Indianapolis with the first game of this group being held in Europe: Valencia are to host AC Milan at the Estadio Mestalla on 27 August.
Inter, in the Eastern side of the draw, will take on Chelsea in their opening game at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Thursday 1 August, 20:00 local time (02:00 CET). The Nerazzurri's second fixture, against the winners of Valencia v AC Milan, is scheduled for Sunday 4 August at the Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
After the regional phase, equal-placed teams from East and West will face each other in the finals in Miami on 6 and 7 August, for 7th, 5th, 3rd and 1st place. The venue for the final stage is Miami Dolphins' Sun Life Stadium, as the tournament is organised by Relevent Sports, a division of RSE Ventures, the sports, entertainment and technology company co-founded by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross.
