APPIANO GENTILE - In reference to certain Romanian newspaper reports that have been relayed in various Italian news outlets, Cristian Chivu categorically denied that he ever sought a lawsuit against professor Franco Benazzo and the Inter medical staff.
The defender stated: "I never considered suing professor Franco Benazzo, nor the Inter medical staff either. Even though I’m not directly responsible for what was published in these newspapers, I’d like to apologise to the doctors involved for these false reports that damage their reputations and sense of professionalism. On the contrary, I’ve always appreciated their work and hold them to be internationally renown professionals of the highest order."
