MILAN – Inter Under-19s missed out on a place in the 2012/13 Primavera championship finals as they were beaten 0-1 by Torino in this afternoon's play-off semi-final.
It was an edgy affair at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti and Daniele Bernazzani's side – again missing a number of key players – appeared reluctant to venture forward. The visitors got off on the right foot in the opening period but secured their place in the Final Eight with one of their few chances after the break when Gyasi manufactured a goal of his own making in the 74th minute.
Torino thus proved to be Inter's bogey team once again. After knocking the Nerazzurri Primavera out of the U19 Coppa Italia at the quarter-final stage earlier in the year, they've now confirmed their status by depriving the reigning Italian champions of the chance to defend their title at this year's Scudetto finals.
