MILAN – They've been team-mates for as long as most people can remember and they both share the same love for Inter: Javier Zanetti and Ivan Cordoba. This morning the Colombian, now Inter's team manager, spoke about his friend and club skipper over the phone on radio programme MattinaSport on RaiSport 1.
"Javier is fine. Along with my dad he's the most positive person I've ever met. He can't wait to leave the hospital and get on with his rehab! He's very calm, he was from the moment it happened in Palermo, even though it hurt a lot. The first thing he thinks about is finding a solution to the problem. He's always been like that and that's the way he sees it now.
"How much will we miss Zanetti? He's very important for this team because of what he gives us on the pitch of course but just having him around is a massive help too. He'll soon be back at La Pinetina [Inter's training ground] to get behind the lads and to make sure they do well - for him too! He'd do anything to be close to his team-mates and that's good for the team. One thing's for sure though, he won't be taking any risks: for now he has to keep his leg still.
"Will he play again? Yes, you can take it from me!"
