MILAN - Javier Zanetti gave his thoughts to Inter Channel after this evening's defeat to Roma, at the end of which the players left the pitch to applause from the San Siro faithful. "Our fans have understood the difficulties we're going through and they realise that we've used up everything we had. All we can do is thank them because they've proved again that they are always there for us."
The skipper continued: "Now we must end the season as best we can and try to get a few players back who can give us a hand. Then, calmly, we need to assess what needs to be put right so that we can start again next season and get back to being successful. You just need to have clear ideas and a joint target, a team that wants to play a leading role. Inter are a club that needs to be challenging every year. The young lads? They need to make the most of every minute they get. They're our future and we have to help them do well."
