MORATTI: "I DON'T NEED TO EXPLAIN BETTER"

President took questions from journalists a day on from Inter v Atalanta. Read his statements in full here on inter.it

MILAN – The day after Inter's defeat to Atalanta, president Massimo Moratti took some questions from the journalists gathered waiting for him outside his offices.

President Moratti, are you still very angry about yesterday?

"My opinion hasn't changed. Whether I'm angry or not, my view hasn't changed."

We can't not start with what you said: that you don't believe it was done in good faith. Can you explain a bit better what you meant by that?
"I really don't think I need to explain anything better. You only have to look at the way this season has gone, especially regarding us. When people want to hit you, they do it anyway. When there's a doubt, the penalty on Rocchi doesn't get given. When there's nothing to doubt – because there was nothing there – the penalty against us does get given. We haven't had a penalty for 21 games."

[Italian TV host] Paolo Bonolis shares your view. He spoke to Inter Channel today and was quoted on the club's website. He said there's a plan to help AC Milan qualify for next's season's Champions League. AC Milan's response was furious: they say such claims are completely groundless and extremely serious. Would you care to comment?
"I'm not Bonolis so... I think Bonolis is the one who should answer to that and to Milan."

In general what's your view on these comments?
"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just as I can have my opinion about the fact that we're being constantly penalised. And he can have his opinion. We live in a free country where you can say these things."

Would you consider taking any drastic action like sending out the Primavera team for the next few games? What do you have in mind?
"What, and help them even more? I don't think so [smiling]..."

After the penalty, it was as if the team blacked out. Do you have anything to say to your players?
"They need to be stronger otherwise it's just too easy."

Are Inter definitely out of the running for Champions League football now?
"I think it's unlikely."

Do you think you might have to let some players go?
"Now is not the time to be talking about things like that."
