MILAN – A rain-soaked Week 30 encounter between Inter and Juventus ended 2-1 to the visitors this afternoon.
Quagliarella's superb long-range strike put the Bianconeri in front after just three minutes but Inter battled back into the game and went close through Cassano and Palacio before the break.
Inter levelled matters nine minutes into the second half when Cassano rolled the ball into the path of Palacio's driving run: the Argentine burst into the area with his first touch and finished clinically with his second.
Parity lasted just six minutes however, as Quagliarella's low delivery found Matri in the six-yard box.
Inter were denied a penalty in the 72nd minute when Chiellini clearly caught Cassano, but the Nerazzurri didn't let their heads drop and kept knocking on the door until the fourth minute of added time for an equaliser that unfortunately never came.
Cambiasso was shown a straight red card right at the
death for a
nasty foul on Giovinco borne out of frustration. The midfielder apologised immediately on the pitch and again in the dressing room afterwards.
