STRAMACCIONI: "MY DREAM YEAR WITH INTER"

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Inter Channel about his 365 days with the first team

APPIANO GENTILE - Exactly 365 days have passed since Andrea Stramaccioni was chosen by president Massimo Moratti to lead Inter. A year ago the Nerazzurri coach’s life changed, just as it is changing now, and he spoke about it to Inter Channel: "Yes, that’s certainly the case. It changed my life. Now we all know each other a bit more. It’s the life of a simple young man that changed drastically. Sometimes I still can’t believe it because it’s a dream for me to be experiencing this job on this stage in the first person. I’m very happy. I have to thank everyone around me and all the Nerazzurri players and staff."

When asked to comment on some symbolic moments of these last twelve months, Stramaccioni choose three: "I can’t deny that the first one is when I heard the president’s voice telling me how he had decided to move forward with me at the helm. Time comes to a standstill in a moment like that, because you think to yourself, ‘I’m coaching Inter’. You feel emotion, pride, and even a bit of fear over whether you’ll be up to it or not. When it comes to other moments I prefer to remember the happy ones, the things that have gone well with these lads, like the win in the first derby. That will always remain in my memory. Seeing a packed San Siro coloured blue and black, and such a strong AC Milan side, even if they didn’t win the league. It was an incredible rush. And then the win in Turin against a Juventus side that hadn’t lost at home for 50 games. Inter stunned the Juventus Stadium and we got to see our fans celebrating in their section as the rest of the stadium emptied out. These are the three most fantastic moments."

And on Saturday the Meazza will be hosting Antonio Conte’s team: "This game is absolutely vital to us, both in terms of the importance for the standings as well as for how much it means to us. We’ll tackle it giving even more than our all, giving 101%. We’re going to work hard this week and be ready for kick-off in a full San Siro."

So then, happy birthday to Andrea Stramaccioni: "Thank you, thanks a lot for thinking about me. And thanks to all the Inter fans."
