VIAREGGIO TOURNAMENT: A WINNING TRADITION

Bernazzani's men make tournament bow at 15:00 in 65th edition of the prestigious cup

MILAN - Inter's commitment to developing young players continues in 2013. 2012 was an unbelievable year in terms of titles won, silverware which sits proudly in the trophy cabinet of the most successful youth academy in Italy.

The Primavera title, the Berretti, the Giovanissimi Italian title and the inaugural NextGen Series are just some of the highlights of a story full of talents, success, commitment and sacrifice. Of the players who won two big trophies with the Primavera, ten have already made their competitive debuts with the first team. 

The Nerazzurri keep a very close eye on their academy and the proof of this is in Andrea Stramaccioni - Primavera coach during the last edition of the Coppa Carnevale - promoted to first-team coach, where he rejoined other members of staff who have come through the ranks in the academy.

Daniele Bernazzani, now in charge of the Primavera, is a coach who has worked under José Mourinho, Rafael Benitez, Leonardo, Gian Piero Gasperini and Claudio Ranieri. He's a key figure in the academy, which is a huge resource for the club, and a heavy contributor to the national youth teams.  The Nerazzurri's recent success in the Coppa Carnevale (2008 and 2011) was particularly significant for their style of play, work ethic, and talents unearthed like Destro, Balotelli, Obi, Romanò, Bessa and many more.

FC Internazionale will follow the progress of the Primavera throughout the Viareggio Cup, with detailed coverage via the club's official website (inter.it) and Inter Channel, Sky Italia 232, the only club channel in Italy to show every Primavera fixture. The Viareggio Cup will be no different, with excellent coverage coming from the event as well as the chance to watch Bernazzani's youngsters every time they're in action.
