MILAN – Together, in the heart of Milan, to celebrate the launch of this year’s collection of Panini stickers. The Nerazzurri guests for the
evening were managing director Marco Fassone and Philippe Coutinho.
And it was the latter who spoke to Sky Sport Italia on various subjects, ranging from his
condition to the team’s objectives. "I’m fine and happy to be here.
I have a slight bit of discomfort and I’ll have to undergo another exam in a
week to see where I’m at, but I feel pretty good overall."
It was inevitable that the discussion would turn to transfer
market rumours, demonstrating that Coutinho is in high
demand: "The offer from Liverpool?
I’m happy for all these requests because it means that people like the work I’m
doing, but I believe Inter have faith in me and I want to show what I’m worth
here. We young players – myself, Juan Jesus, Benassi, Bessa and others – can sense the confidence that the coach and club have in us.
All my thoughts are on recovering soon and coming back."
Coutinho was then asked about Wesley Sneijder:
"He’s a great champion and a very good person. Now he’s playing for another team and I wish him
the best. However, we can still win without him."
Finally, a few words on Inter’s objectives: "Third place? We believe in it and we’re working to make it happen. Next we have a very important match in the Coppa Italia and we need to find the right balance to win."
