ZINGONIA - Atalanta emerged victorious from this afternoon's top-of-the-table clash with Inter as the Campionato Primavera started up again after the winter break.
After a fairly even first period – which ended with the hosts a goal to the good thanks to Palma's effort on the stroke of half time – Daniele Bernazzani's lads lost their way after the restart. The Nerazzurri Under-19s were unable to produce their usual aggressive game and lost too many balls in the middle of the park as they struggled to pick out the final pass and fashion decent chances. Atalanta were the better team on the day and added a second in the 75th minute when the Nerazzurri backline failed to deal with Gagliardini's long ball and Cais was left with the easy task of finishing.
Today's win sees Atalanta pull 6 points clear of Inter at the top of Campionato Primavera Group B.
