SERIE A: INTER V GENOA STATS

Last Nerazzurri defeat to Genoa came in 1994; coaches meet for the first time

MILAN - Let's look ahead to Inter v Genoa, today at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (kick-off 12:30), with some numbers from our friends at Football Data.

Inter have not lost a competitive home game since 23 September: a 2-0 league defeat to Siena. Since then the Nerazzurri have put together 7 wins and 2 draws (both 2-2). If Stramaccioni's men were to avoid defeat later, it would be Inter's best home sequence since the record 53 matches unbeaten at the San Siro between 2008 and 2010.

The last time Genoa beat Inter home or away was on 6 November 1994, when the Rossoblu won 2-1 at the Marassi. Since then Inter have come out victorious in 11 of their 14 meetings (including all of their previous 6), with the other 3 ending all square.

Andrea Stramaccioni and Luigi Delneri meet for the first time. Today, the Nerazzurri coach meets Genoa for the second time. Stramaccioni actually had his first match as Inter coach against Genoa, as the Nerazzurri edged the men from Liguria 5-4 in a thriller at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on 1 April.

Luigi Delneri will take on Inter for the 20th time, this lunchtime. He has 6 wins, 5 draws and 8 defeats from his 19 previous encounters. A side managed by Delneri has only once managed to win in Milan however, when his Chievo side beat Inter on 15 December 2001. Since then the Rossoblu coach has drawn 3 and lost 5.

Inter have beaten the Rossoblu at home on 39 occasions, drawn 9 and lost 4.

Andrea Gervasoni of Mantova will take charge of today's encounter. He has officiated Inter 4 times (3 wins and 1 defeat for the Nerazzurri) and Genoa on 15 occasions (9 wins, 5 draws and 1 defeat for the Rossoblu).
