Inter and Neftci, here are all the figures and interesting stats from Football Data.
It’s the second time that Inter and Neftci will face each other in a competitive match, after Inter’s 3-1 away win last 4 October. For the Nerazzurri this is the second match against a club from Azerbaijan after the
first leg victory.
Inter have failed to score in only one of their last 10 competitive home matches; this took place last 23 September when they were defeated 0-2 by Siena in the Serie A. In the other 9 games in consideration the Nerazzurri have scored a total of 16 goals.
Neftci have won just one of their last 10 matches in European
competition: it happened
on 30 August 2012 when, in the Europa League, they earned a 3-1
victory away to Apoel Nicosia. In
the other 9 games the Azerbaijani have a record of 5 draws and 4 defeats.
It will be the second time that Neftci will face an Italian
opponent in a competitive match after the first leg.
This match will be the second ever meeting between Stramaccioni and Hajiev. The first one dates back to the Nerazzurri’s away victory in
Azerbaijan on 4 October.
The referee for the match will be Bosnian Emir Aleckovic. It will be his seventh time officiating a match in European competition, with the record standing at 1 home win, 2 draws and 3 away wins. It will be Aleckovic’s first ever match with either Inter or Neftci, but also his first with either an Italian or an Azerbaijani club.
