AGRIGENTO – The first edition of the Premio Nazionale Etica e Sport (National Ethics and Sport Award) is to be held at the splendid Pirandello Theatre in Agrigento this afternoon, with Massimo Moratti among those on the honours list.
The president has been granted recognition in this first year of the accolade, set up by the Senate of the Republic, for his exceptional social commitment with Inter Campus, the club's project that provides 10,000 children throughout the world with a reason to smile. Massimo Moratti and Inter Campus were invited to UN Headquarters in New York on 28 November 2012 by the Italian Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace, in collaboration with UNICEF, to present the Nerazzurri social programme conducted in 25 countries around the world.
Others attending the event will be Italo Cucci, journalist, writer and director of press agency Italpress, Andrea Abodi, president of the Serie B Lega Calcio, Giovanni Asaro, general manager of INAIL Sicilia, and Emilio Mancuso, a sports journalist and host of popular radio programme La politica nel pallone.
The award ceremony is part of the conference organised for senators Benedetto Adragna and Felice Casson to present their bill on reforming sports justice. Assistant public prosecutor of Agrigento Ignazio Fonza will take part in the debate.
