MILAN – It was another special event exclusively for Nerazzurri fans and
exclusively at the "Solo Inter" store. This afternoon more than 600
people came to see Samir Handanovic, the special guest at Inter’s official
shop. There were autographs and snapshots, but also statements from the
Nerazzurri’s number 1 who spoke with Sky Sport Italia: "We made mistakes
in a few games, but that’s normal. It happens. Now we’re looking forward since
there’s a new match on Sunday. It sometimes happens that you have some low
moments during a season. We’ve had ours now and lost a few points along the
way, but we’re not going to let our heads drop over it. There are many matches
left in a long season, and we can make up for it."
It may be that, after so many consecutive victories, a bit of euphoria crept
into the team unconsciously. This is what president Moratti said and Handanovic
reflected on it: "It may be. But that happens to every team, not just
ours. And in away trips to Parma and Bergamo, for example, I’ve never won, and
not just with Inter. Perhaps those are grounds that some teams just don’t
perform well in, but these things are normal and we’ll move forward."
Regarding the Inter goalkeeper’s record against Palermo, "at home it’s
good". Then Samir spoke on what can be expected: "We’re playing at
home, we’ve trained hard and we’ll give it our all for a victory."
"Yes, he’s training well," replied Handanovic on Wesley Sneijder as he went on to explain the present atmosphere: "Everything is proceeding as normal and there’s nothing wrong. We’re all training like professionals. Could this have disrupted the Nerazzurri’s atmosphere? No, not in my opinion. But when some negative results come along people look for alibis and excuses. Others might have these discussions, but it’s not something I care to talk much about."
