INTER CAMPUS: AGAINST FUNDAMENTALISM, LAWLESSNESS

Inter Campus returned to Morocco, in the Sidi Moumen neighbourhood on the outskirts of Casablanca

CASABLANCA – Among the shacks and houses of the lower classes, where unemployment is rampant and religious fundamentalism and lawlessness are all too real, work is being done with the children of Sidi Moumen together with the non-profit organisation Soleterre and the Moroccan association El Massir. This time, 60 children participated in the different training sessions, along with six male coaches and two female coaches from the neighbourhood.

The youngsters benefited from the Inter Campus programme and our two coaches Lorenzo Forneris and Lorenzo Gironi; they were immediately renamed Lorenzo Saghir and Kabir ("small" and "big") in order to better distinguish between them. Then finally, to give the visit a worthy finish, everyone enjoyed a hearty meal of cous cous together at coach Said’s house.

Further good news came when Mrs. Wafa Latif, who has always provided us with lots of help over these years of work, was named as our official representative in Sidi Moumen.
