Prandelli's side seal 3-1 victory with goals by Pirlo, De Rossi and Osvaldo. Inter defender Ranocchia did not feature

YEREVAN - Italy beat Armenia 3-1 in this evening's 2014 World Cup qualifier played at the Hrazdan Stadium.

Andrea Pirlo opened the scoring from the spot in the 11th minute but Armenia struck back through Mkhitaryan shortly before the half-hour mark. After the restart two headed goals by Daniele De Rossi (64) and Pablo Osvaldo (81) saw the Azzurri come away with all three points and take sole command at the top of Group B.

Nerazzurri defender Andrea Ranocchia was not used.
