MORATTI: "NEFTCHI MATTERS NOW. THEN THE DERBY"

"We must concentrate on tonight's match out of respect for the fans and the Europa League"

BAKU – President Massimo Moratti gave a brief interview to Sky Sport Italia shortly before kick-off between Neftchi and Inter, emphasising the importance of this Europa League game before the upcoming derby against AC Milan: "We're focused on getting the win this evening and on treating this match with the utmost respect. Afterwards we can think about Sunday. For now we must concentrate on tonight, out of respect for the fans and for the Europa League, which is an important competition, and also because we're playing abroad and we must maintain the club's image."

The president also commented on Andrea Stramaccioni's decision to field Esteban Cambiasso in defence: "Esteban has played in that position before. The coach has picked the right man for the job." And on the three-man back line: "I have faith in Stramaccioni. If he sees this as the best system for the players we have then I have nothing to say. I've made no objection, only tried to understand how he intended to play."
