MILAN - "I think the international break was useful for us to get some of our players back again and improve the fitness of others. We've trained well despite obviously not having all our players together, but I think it's normal for a big team to have lots of internationals." Andrea Stramaccioni opened his press conference ahead of Torino v Inter by assessing the state of his squad after the two-week break from Serie A action. And looking ahead, he announced confidently: "We have lots of games close together now but we're ready for them. We'll be ready for tomorrow."
Naturally, the coach was asked to reflect on Inter's defeat to Roma and the fact that the team has yet to win at the Meazza this season. "I think the disappointing result was the other Sunday, because the other two 'non-wins' came in the return leg of ties in which we had already gained an advantage. In all three homes games we got off to a bad start. We're determined to make up for it in front of our fans and we'll do that very soon. For now though, we're focused solely on Torino."
More from the coach's press conference to follow soon.
