MILAN – President Massimo Moratti replied to questions from journalists waiting outside the Saras offices this morning.
You can read the president's statements in full here on inter.it:
"Partly, yes. First of all you can see the enthusiasm that he's brought to the team, and you can tell from listening to the players. We're starting to see his football too."
Samuel and Zarate both scored and you had three penalties given against you. It certainly wasn't a dull debut...
"No, not in the slightest. But then he isn't a dull person, so he got what we saw yesterday. The three penalties don't need commenting on. It's unusual for a team to concede three penalties at home, two of which were a bit strange."
Things have generally being going against you this year and yet Inter have rarely complained, unlike others...
"But the others are aiming for higher targets at the moment. They're understandably thinking about the Scudetto so every point is crucial. And maybe we're more used to it. That's also a factor."
Gian Piero Gasperini has spoken out again, saying he can't have been the reason for the team's lack of aggressiveness.
"No one has said he was the main culprit.
Absolutely not. It was a negative spell with three months of
preparation that went badly so everything started off badly. It
might have worked but it instead it went badly. It's
all his fault, in football there is always blame and merit,
but it was an unfortunate situation."
We've seen a few banners
manifesting a certain disapproval towards you this season. How do you take it
all?
"It depends on the type of disapproval. Yesterday it seemed it was aimed at certain directors. In any case, I always take it as advice."
Did Fredy Guarin play well yesterday?
"Yes, Guarin was excellent."
