FORLAN: "RANIERI HAS EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED"

"I've never refused to come on, yesterday the media put a negative spin on things"

MILAN – Diego Forlan was among those present at Pirelli's flagship store in Milan, at an event jointly run by Inter and Pirelli for Don Gino Rigoldi's Children's Association in Romania. The striker took the opportunity to answer questions from journalists on what happened on the bench between him and Claudio Ranieri during the second half of Inter v Atalanta.

"The coach has explained what went on," said the Uruguayan striker. "I have never refused to come on and I never will. As you know, I've always played up front, but I'm always at the service of the team, and what I enjoy most is playing. Yesterday the media put a negative spin on what happened, even though Ranieri explained it. I've got a contract with Inter, this has been a difficult season for me, I've had several injuries but now we need to keep working. And, as I've said, I've got nothing against Ranieri. How can we put a smile back on president Moratti's face? We need to start winning again."
